Summer Geology Field Camp

Two field methods courses will be offered in Summer 2026. Please indicate which course(s) you intend to take in Summer 2026, and fill out the rest of the information in the form linked below. Students may take one or both in a summer. The application deadline is January 16, 2026.

2026 Summer Geosciences Field Methods Application:  Due Friday, January 16, 2026

GEOS 46803 "Geological Field Methods" is a 3-credit course that will tentatively occur May 16-June 4, 2026. Projects and field trips will occur in the in the Rocky Mountains of southwestern Montana and northern New Mexico.

GEOS 36703 "Environmental Field Methods" is a 3-credit course that will tentatively occur June 5-18, 2026. Projects will occur in the Rocky Mountains of southwestern Montana with field trips to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Canyonlands National Parks on the return home. GEOS 36703 is required for Earth Science B.S. majors. Geology B.S. majors must take both GEOS 36703 and 46803.
