All Participants:

This year's NABGG Technical Conference, will be hosted by the University of Arkansas and we will host all events, with the exception of a fieldtrip, on the campus. There are a limited number of rooms available on the campus (49) so it is advisable to make your room registration early. You must identify yourself as being part of the NABGG Conference to make the reservation. The room rate is $105/night + tax. All reservation requests MUST be received August 8th, 2009. Any rooms not filled by August 9th will be open to public reservations. You can contact Carnall Hall at 1-800-295-9118 (locally at 479-582-0400) or view their website at http://innatcarnallhall.com (no reservations are taken by e-mail; you must call).

Students:

We are anticipating a number of scholarships for financial assistant covering your travel and accommodations. To qualify for these benefits you must present a poster or paper! Please submit your title and a brief abstract using the “Call for Papers” form on the NABGG website as soon as possible so we have an idea how many students will need assistance.

We are planning a variety of activities for the students which will not interfere with conference participation and include a campus tour, social mixers with students from our campus and local NABGG Chapter, career workshops, fieldtrip and more….

We will have a campus tour on Wednesday evening that will end at the Chancellor’s Home in time for the Icebreaker!

We have planned workshops, at no extra cost, for students interested in “How to Apply to Graduate School” and “How to Write Your Statement of Purpose and a Resume”. These two workshops will be held after the conference presentations on Thursday and Friday evening and will include free food and beverages. We also have evening activities that will allow students to directly interact with students on our campus.

For more information, please visit the NABGG website or send an email to jkvamme@uark.edu.

Professionals:

We are planning a golf outing for Wednesday, September 9th.  If you are interested in this event please contact Jo Ann Kvamme (jkvamme@uark.edu or 479-575-6603) for costs and details. This event will be dependent on having a sufficient number of players to host a small tournament.
