The University of Arkansas’
Department of Geosciences is pleased to announce the recent appointment of a
new professor, Dr. Fangzhen Teng.
Professor Teng comes to us from a post-doctorate research position at
the University of Chicago
and the Field Museum of Natural History.
He originally earned his PhD from the University
of Maryland, where Dr. Teng
specialized in the study the lithium isotopes in crust-mantle
interactions of the Earth. His use of lithium is considered innovative and significant and he hopes to expand his
research to include iron, molybdenum and chloride isotopes, including
both terrestrial and meteoritic materials. The faculty, staff and students in Arkansas’
Geosciences Department are thrilled to have him join our team. He will be moving to Fayetteville
with his wife, Jianying.
Please
join us all in welcoming the Tengs to our beautiful corner of the Ozarks!
